The Five Fastest Cars in the World

For decades, the race to build the fastest car in the world has been on. Legendary brands are still competing to outdo each other today in this fierce hypercar race.

Bugatti’s supercar was the first to break 300 mph, and for years it held that title until Koenigsegg’s Agera RS took it away. Now though, the Swedish firm is gearing up to regain their title with a new model.

Koenigsegg Agera RS

Koenigsegg Agera RS is an impressive high-performance vehicle built to be seen and heard. It’s considered one of the fastest cars in existence, earning itself numerous accolades for its feats.

The Agera RS is a limited-production car, handcrafted 25 times between 2015 and 2018. It boasts a 5-litre twin turbocharged V-8 engine producing an incredible 1,160 horsepower.

This allows it to reach speeds of up to 447 kilometers per hour, more than twice the speed of Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and McLaren P1 models.

The Agera RS can be customized with several aftermarket upgrades, such as a digital touchscreen in the center console and an additional screen located in front. Additionally, there’s an interior bag compartment, available roof racks, and more to enjoy.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Bugatti, founded in 1909, has been a French company renowned for their stunning cars with breathtaking beauty and thrilling speeds.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is one of their fastest vehicles. It’s a four-wheel drive model that weighs 1838 pounds.

This 8.0-liter W16 engine produces 1,183 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful Veyron on the market.

This car is capable of reaching a top speed of 268mph, significantly faster than the 254mph that the standard Veyron is rated to. This increase is achieved through increased engine power and an upgraded aerodynamic package.

But it’s not just the power and top speed that make this car so remarkable; it also boasts a host of other impressive features. For instance, the Super Sport weighs 110 pounds less than its base model due to new carbon fiber weave in the outer panels, and its braking system utilizes radially vented carbon-fiber discs.

McLaren Speedtail

McLaren Speedtail is the fastest car in the world, boasting a gas-electric hybrid powertrain with 1,035 horsepower and 848 lb-ft of torque.

The Speedtail is an aerodynamic marvel, capable of reaching top speeds of 250 miles per hour. With its low-slung teardrop shape and lack of traditional mirrors, it helps to streamline airflow for enhanced efficiency.

Additionally, its flexible carbon fiber ailerons reduce air turbulence around the wheels. Furthermore, its front and rear inlets facilitate effective ventilation through its bodywork.

McLaren claims this makes their Speedtail model the “most aerodynamically drag efficient” vehicle they have ever built, thanks to advanced technology and its unique shape.

Hennessey Venom GT

If you’re in search of a speedy vehicle, the Hennessey Venom GT is one of the top options available. It boasts an impressive engine that can reach top speeds of over 300 miles per hour.

Furthermore, its price tag will be hard to beat. Unfortunately, this model will only be available for a limited period of time.

Hennessey has long been known for crafting high-performance sports cars that are enjoyable to drive, which is why they created the Venom GT.

The Hennessey Venom is a mid-engined supercar designed by the Texas company and based on the Lotus Exige. Powered by a turbocharged engine with up to 1,451 horsepower, you can control everything from its cockpit.
