Automotive definition varies depending on who you ask. A vehicle is any wheeled transport vehicle used for movement. Most commonly, automotive definitions of vehicles to state that they are road-going vehicles, seats eight to twelve people comfortably, and primarily to transport people and not products. The automotive definition of a van or minivan is more appropriate for passenger transportation. Sports utility vehicles are generally smaller vehicles meant for cargo transportation.
Automobiles fall into one of two categories: passenger automobiles and commercial vehicles. Passenger automobiles are passenger transportation such as minivans, SUVs, sedans, and other similar sized motor vehicles. Automobiles designed for commercial transportation are larger in size and weight with enclosed interiors and have more passenger space. Automobiles are categorized as high performance automobiles, if they are designed for racing, high speed, off roading, and other Off-road endeavors. Most automotive industry professionals will define an automobile as a motor vehicle designed for use on the road with the ability to carry at most maximum of weight capacity.
In Japan, there is the Acura brand, which is known for upscale Japanese motor vehicles. The Acura company was founded by Richard W. Kibby, a young American businessman who had just received his first ride on an Acura automobile when he arrived in Japan. Mr. Kibby had been living and working in Tokyo, when he took a vacation to attend an international car show. He had been looking for a car to purchase so decided to purchase an Acura Integra Touring car which had won several national awards. Since that time the Acura Company has grown significantly in size and scope and now produces various different models in the United States and Japan.
Toyota, a Toyota affiliate also produces many different types of Automotive products. All the different divisions under the umbrella of Toyota include motorsport, Truck, Rental, and passenger cars. One division that no one may have heard of is the Toyota Motor Corporation. The Toyota Motor Corporation is located in Harbor City, Washington. It is part of the huge conglomerate, Toyota, which also manufactures and produces parts for its many domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
A Toyota made automobile in the early 20th century may not be the same as it is today but the basic principles of manufacturing are still the same. Although the Toyota Motor Corporation does not actually make passenger cars, they do produce a large number of truck and van types of vehicles. The biggest division of the company is the Automotive division, which makes parts for engines, transmissions, and so much more. Other Automotive divisions include parts for engines, transmissions, chassis, body kits, drive train, driveline, power trains, transmissions, electronics, auto electronic systems, and auto accessories. A Toyota made automobile in the early 20th century may not be the same as it is today but the basic principles of manufacturing are still the same.
The division that makes the most money is the Diesel engine division. This division makes vehicles such as passenger cars, trucks, and vans. These vehicles are made in three major parts: Germany, Japan, and America. It is no surprise that Toyota makes most of their vehicles in Europe because Europe is the largest producer of diesel fuel and because of this reason it makes sense to buy a car in Europe rather than one in Japan, or vice versa. By purchasing a Toyota vehicle you are actually helping the German automobile industry as well as the Japanese automobile industry.
